Thoughtfully designed and beautifully executed, the interior of the new Chrysler Pacifica mixes a combination of high-tech features with a spaciousness that belies the normal confines typically found in minivans. The available tri-pane panoramic sunroof, with active sunroof over the first two rows and a fixed glass pane over the third row, adds to the Pacifica's feeling of spaciousness.Â
For added convenience, available Stow 'n Vac vacuum cleaner, powered by RIDGID, provides easy access to all corners of the vehicle. The Stow 'n Go seating and storage system, a legendary part of the FCA minivan family for more than 10 years, is here and has been re-designed for added functionality and ease of use.

To that point, the interior is filled with screens, front and back, ranging from the seven-inch full-color driver information display to the 8.4-inch Uconnect screen. The available Uconnect Theater rear entertainment system allows passengers, young and old, to watch movies, play built-in games and connect personal devices to surf the internet via a pair of 10-inch touchscreens. Â
Connectivity is another aspect that has fully evolved within the Pacifica. The Uconnect system with 8.4-inch touchscreen navigation, integrated voice command, and Uconnect Access, helps to keep drivers and passengers connected with information such as restaurant reviews, fuel prices, and movie listings. And that doesn't even mention the available Sirius XM satellite radio, pumping through the standard six-speaker audio system. A premium system with active noise canceling is also available through a 13-speaker Alpine stereo or a 20-speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system.
And just along to surprise and delight, segment-first handsfree sliding doors and liftgate are operated by making a kicking motion under the sliding door or bumper to open the sliders or the liftgate. Â
Motivation & Engineering
The new Chrysler Pacifica is powered by the award-winning Chrysler 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with Engine Stop-Start (ESS). Continually revised and refined, it is now more powerful and refined than ever before. Producing 287-horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, it's one of the most reliable six-cylinder engines in the business. Transverse-mounted, the front wheel drive (FWD) engine is mated to Chrysler's 948TE Torqueflite nine-speed automatic transmission for smooth shifts and EPA fuel economy numbers of 19 city/28 highway/22 combined, even while using regular gasoline. Those wishing to go green can opt for the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 Hybrid engine, which achieves an 84 MPGe (Miles Per Gallon Equivalent).Â
The new Pacifica is a smooth operator thanks to its electric rack and pinion steering system and independent front suspension with MacPherson struts, coil-over shock absorbers, and a stabilizer bar for forward stability. The rear of the new Pacifica is composed of an independent suspension with coil springs, twin-tube shocks and a "twist-blade"design for added strength and durability. Put them together for a smooth, cocoon-like ride that will envelope you in total comfort.Â
Re-engineered from the ground up, the Chrysler Pacifica rides on an entirely new platform. The body structure is the stiffest and lightest in its class and more responsive as a result of lower levels of body roll and enhanced agility. All of this new engineering results in a "vault-like" interior with minimal wind noise. The entire ride is enhanced through the use of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) which is standard on all trim levels.Â
Chrysler Pacifica Safety & Security
The new Chrysler Pacifica includes the latest in advanced safety and security technology, offering more than 100 standard and available features. Now available with a Surround View Camera, it can provide a 360-degree view around the Pacifica before backing up or pulling forward. Other features include Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Hold which helps to maintain distances between vehicles and can bring it to a controlled stop under certain circumstances.
