New Jeep Wrangler Willys '41 Olive Green Jeep

Paying honor to the original 1941 Willys Jeep, the new Jeep Wrangler Willys '41 4xe is a modernized version of everybody's favorite off-road vehicle. Originally designed as the 1941 Willys MB and used by the military during World War II, it went on to motoring greatness after the war. Returning GIs would pick them up for cheap from surplus retailers. Soon, a cult following developed that only reinforced the Jeep's abilities. The new Jeep Wrangler Willys '41 carries many of the same attributes. Only this features a modern turbocharged four-cylinder plug-in hybrid powertrain.

But that's not all. Besides the PHEV powertrain, the new Jeep Wrangler Willys '41 for sale includes other features that tie it back to its forefather, the Jeep MB. These include a new Olive Green paint inspired by the U.S. Army hue. Decals around the Willys '41 have a "stenciled-on" appearance similar to the type used in WWII.

The interior features a tan heritage cloth fabric on the seats, an olive drab fabric-covered dashboard, and a '41 shifter knob medallion.

Wheels are olive green 17-inch aluminum hubs that resemble the "steelie" steel wheels that drove the Willys through thick and thin on their way to victory in World War II.

Willys '41 Motivation

Not to brag, but the new Jeep Wrangler 4xe is one of the best-selling plug-in hybrid vehicles in America. It features a very efficient PHEV system that combines with the internal combustion engine. Start with a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with an electric motor and generator mounted to the transmission. The four-cylinder delivers 270 horsepower and 279 lb-ft of torque. So far, so good. But add in the motor generator for an additional 134 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. That adds up to a blistering 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.

Power is supplied via a 14.0-kWh battery. While not fast-charge capable, the Willys '41 can achieve its 21-mile range in under three hours on a level two charger. The powertrain is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission for reliable gearshifts, whether you are on or off-road.

Off-Road with the Jeep Willys '41

That's not all! The Jeep Wrangler Willys '41 4xe includes other desirable features that help it achieve legendary status. These include an electronically locking limited-slip differential, rock rails to protect the door sills while off-roading, LED headlights and taillights, and front and rear steel bumpers for added off-road protection. There are three choices of roof, beginning with the body-colored hardtop, a Sky One-Touch powertop roof, and a tan soft top.
