2012 Ram 2500 Performance & Handling
Every trim level except the top-of-the-line AWD-only Power Wagon offers the choice between 4x2 (RWD) and 4x4 drivetrains. The base ST trim comes equipped with a 5.7L HEMI V8 engine with VVT paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission that produces 383 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. An available 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel I-6 engine comes paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission, producing 350 horsepower and an incredible 800 pound-feet of torque with the automatic transmission, while the manual produces 610 pound-feet of torque.

Standard features begin with the Laramie Longhorn by adding 17-inch aluminum wheels, electric winch, 4.56 rear axle ratio, front disconnecting stabilizer bar, fuel tank skid plate shield, Power Wagon Off-Road Group, Stripe and Badge Molding, transfer case skid plate shield, Tru-Lok Front and Rear Axles, and a 180-amp alternator.
