Performance
The 2012 Jeep Wrangler now sports a new 3.8L Pentastar V6 engine that pumps out a hefty 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. Drivers have the option of either pairing this engine with a 5-speed automatic transmission or, for those who want ultimate control, a 6-speed manual (standard). One large improvement is that the 2012 Wrangler now powers its way to 60 mph in 8.4 seconds, which is three seconds faster than the 2011. The 2012 also gets a Next Generation Dana 30 Solid Front Axle and a Next Generation Dana 44 Heavy Duty Rear Axle that adds a stiffer and stronger housing and larger pinion bearings to handle added torque requirements. These additions make the 2012 Jeep Wrangler more solid than the rocks you'll be climbing up. All models get an EPA-estimated MPG of 15 city/19 hwy.
Standard Options and Features
The 2012 Wrangler comes in a variety of trims to fit every Jeep enthusiast's lifestyle and budget: Rubicon, Sahara, Sport 4x4 and Sport S 4x4. Uconnect is standard on all models with a CD/MP3 Audio System and Auxiliary Input Jack. An upgraded Media Center adds Garmin Navigation with a 6.5" Touchscreen and a 40GB Hard Drive, capable of holding 6,700 songs.
